Camp STREAM Summer Reading

Welcome to Camp Stream, Middlesex County's Library summer program for kids aged 2-11.

What is STREAM learning?

STEAM learning is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics. We have included Reading as part of our summer learning programming,
making our approach STREAM! Our STREAM Camp will provide fun and engaging virtual programming that encourages campers to explore, navigate and discover.

What will the program involve?

There are two STREAM camps:

When you register you will receive a downloadable Camp Welcome Package (based on age of registrant). This package will include information about our Member’s Only Camp STREAM Google Classroom! In your classroom you will find:

  • Camp Guides uploaded weekly over the duration of the program
  • Recorded videos that support many of the STREAM activities
  • LIVE Virtual Program Calendar
  • Camp updates, important information and helpful tools to support your DIY camp experience
  • And a place to chat with the camp directors if you have questions or need help!

Each camp guide will be packed with entertaining and educational STREAM activities. Activities will be accompanied with easy step-by-step instructions. For many activities, our team has recorded a video to support your experience! We have pulled together everything you need to make your DIY camp a success.

Our team is also planning an exciting set of LIVE virtual programs by Zoom for kids and their families, including Virtual Performers and a weekly Camp
Fire Storytime. Stay tuned for more details.

The program will commence the week of June 29 and will end the week of August 10 for a total of 7-weeks of a virtual camp experience!

What is required to participate?

In order to participate in camp STREAM, you will require a computer with an internet connection. The experiences would be best on a computer or a laptop. Mobile devices are possible but could be challenging for some links on a touch screen.

If you want to participate in the Live Events you will need to download Zoom video conferencing software. For Zoom Events, you need a computer with an internet connection and audio capabilities. All meeting links will be provided when you register for a Zoom Event!

Each week we will provide a camp supply list. Most of the activities use basic craft supplies you probably have on hand and you can pick and choose the ones that work best for your budget.
