Items by Mail

For patrons outside of these communities and those unable to visit an open branch for any reason, we are still offering Items by Mail.  To use this option simply select "Mail My Items" as the pickup location when placing holds.

Items being mailed are checked out to the patron at the time they're placed in the mail.  Items are checked out for an additional week, to account for time spent in the mail. Books are checked-out out for 4 weeks and DVDs for 2 weeks.

Additional Information

If you don't yet have a Middlesex County Library card, you can visit anyone of our open locations during curbside hours to get one!  Please bring proof of ID and proof of address (a driver's license covers both); you will be asked to complete a brief registration form.  More details can be found on our Using the Library page

If you are a Virtual Card holder you will need to upgrade your card before requesting items by mail. This can be done by visiting any open location, anytime during their service hours. Please be sure to bring the library card you were mailed, ID and proof of address with you.

If you do not have a library card and are homebound, contact our Outreach Services staff by email at outreachservices@middlesex.ca or call 519-245-8237 and leave a message.

For Patrons of Closed Branches

  • Coldstream and Delaware were changed to Komoka
  • Melbourne, Newbury and Wardsville were changed to Glencoe

Items can still be returned in the drop boxes of Coldstream, Melbourne, Newbury and Wardsville.  We are temporarily unable to accept returns at the Delaware Library and apologize for this inconvenience.
