Summer at the Library

Summer at the Library: Find Your Book Joy features reading motivation programs with prize draws for all ages, and engaging events and activities to inspire learning and creativity all summer long!

When Does Summer at the Library start?

Registration for all reading programs begins Friday, June 26.  Registration for events may begin sooner; check with your local branch for details.

How Does Summer at the Library work?

Visit any Middlesex County Library to get started with one of our reading motivation programs.  These programs motivate you to read all summer long:  the more you read, the more chances you’ll have to win! While there are suggested age ranges for each program, staff will work with you to determine which program will be the best fit.

For Children

Kids can earn prize draw ballots and earn rewards for each day they read for 20 minutes and for each activity they complete. Best for ages 2-11, with two booklet options.

For Teens

Use our app to log your reading and challenge progress, and to track the number of prize draw entries you've earned!

For Adults

Drop-in to any Middlesex County Library branch to pick-up a bookmark to log your reading.  Mark each day you read for at least 20 minutes.  Return completed bookmarks to the library to be entered into our prize draw!

When does Summer at the Library End?

The last day of all Summer at the Library reading programs is Saturday, August 15.  This is the last day to submit booklets or reading logs to receive prize draw ballots for all four programs.

Events & Activities

Middlesex County Library will be offering a variety of activities and events throughout the summer.  Some events maybe drop-in, others will require advanced registration. Ask for details at your local branch, or visit our online event calendar to learn more.
