The Middlesex-London Health Unit suggests that private residences test their well water frequently, as water supply conditions can change allowing harmful bacteria into drinking water. Examples that could change water quality include: flooding or heavy rain fall/snow melt, well condition/maintenance, or nearby construction. Year round well water testing (for total coliforms and E. coli bacteria) for private residences is provided for free by the London Public Health Laboratory.
Water testing kits are available for both pick-up and drop-off at 5 Middlesex County Library locations: Dorchester, Glencoe, Lucan, Parkhill and Strathroy.
Water testing kits can be picked up during all library open hours.
Please collect water your sample just before you plan to drop it off, and only drop-off during the indicated time period.
